Born in Atlanta GA, U.S.A in 1986, Stephen Poch, also known as sea4, found that he had a strong magnetism to graffiti, like a moth to a flame. He discovered His fascination with graffiti while living and going to school in Birmingham. Stephen really hated school and traveling on the buses was one of his only escapes from reality. This was his opportunity to see the vibrant and electrifying graffiti pieces that were sprawled all over the dreary city walls. After moving to London he spent much of his spare time teaching himself to paint graffiti pieces at a place known only as “the park”. In the year 2000 a graffiti crew called E.S.C was formed, standing for Every.Second.Counts and Escaping.Societies.Corruption. Inside of the collective are graffiti artists sea4, Area, Ezka, Neak and Form7. As both a crew and individuals they have always tried to maintain a London style feel to their pieces, consisting of simple outlines contrasted with bold statement colours.

Currently alongside the graffiti that has shaped and challenged Stephen to both mental and physical extremities. He also chooses to paint in a more abstract contemporary style. Using a selection of different mediums, textures and instruments to create art that usually represents his life.

Stephen hosts a gallery called Escaping.Societies.Corruption, which is run on an annual basis in Waterloo, South London. The gallery is an opportunity to see his artwork up close and explore images from his memory and imagination.
